Biography

Dr. Riccardo Ambrosini is a Chemical Engineer, with a first degree from the University of Palermo in Italy, and a PhD from Imperial College in London. After few years of postdoctoral research positions in the UK and Spain in the field of Fluid Dynamics, he worked in London at the International Energy Agency as a technical specialist on coal-fired power generation, and then as a Strategy & Finance Consultant for the energy sector, with a focus on renewables, fine chemicals and bio-chemicals.

Riccardo then joined the EBRD, as a regional banker leading business development on direct lending on renewable and energy efficiency projects in the Western Balkans.

Riccardo is now based in Rabat, and as the Climate Finance specialist in the Financial Institutions Group for the MEA region at the International Finance Corporation, he helps Commercial Banks, Leasing Companies and Microfinance Institutions developing Sustainable Energy Finance products.
